Gains of Enlistment

The littlest sin in you that causes you to sigh is more brutal than a siege laid on a city – would you dare come to Captain Jesus! Against houses given, war spoils gotten and shared, and street named after the men of David as a reward, there is a reward for overcomers in heaven.

Access to the Tree of life (Revelation 2:1-7)

To the one who overcomes dwindling first love for God, they will have the rear privilege of sitting in the gathering of his likes to eat from the tree of life. Recall that this tree is being guarded by an angel and a sharp sword (Genesis 3:24). It, therefore, connotes that angels have tremendous respect for this sort of conquerors for a stock of the fallen race of Adam to have approached the tree unhindered. Such will not come to the tree of life and develop a fondness for angel’s incredible power nor admire their stature and armour over the simplicity of this “common-looking” tree of life.

“Touch Not! (Revelations 2:8-11)”

Similarly, he who will conquer self, its passions, and love for convenience at the detriment of spiritual vibrancy has a reward. But, of course, this may result in losing one’s life or freedom to imprisonment; however, such will be given a dividend of immunity over the second death. To such, the second death and its insatiable appetite and hunger to consume have immense respect; when it sees the crown of life over such, it passes over them. For by the hardship they have endured on earth for claiming allegiance to Jesus, they have had their share of the fate of hell and lake of fire. For this, they now have a crown of life instead of a commonplace perishable crest or war medal. Some of David’s men may have suffered the ill fate of the first death caused by Adam and may also suffer the second. But none of the overcomers in the Jesus army will suffer any – enlist in this army immediately, folk, there is glory ahead.

A special ensignment from God (Revelations 2:12-17)

Would you dare stand, fight and gain victory over the Nicolaitan doctrine, also known as Balaam’s creed greed? But, unfortunately, it also passes for one major stumbling block that stumble-blocks the stock of the Stumbling Block Himself. The only means by which the Israelites could traverse the plains of Moab unscathed by idolatry rested solely on one man’s faithfulness – Balaam. But there was a strong desire for rewards: cash, kind, and crests – but all gains of iniquity. Why? These needs are to be met outside every other way but God’s. Suppose respect or profits are earned even if it meant contradicting God’s will. In that case, men holding the doctrines of Balaam, since they have common bedevilling greed, do not mind. They hence find it easy to stray. The angel may wrestle greatly with them along the way like Jacob but will lose like to Balaam. So in us dwells the craze for self-respect and position, come what may! Will you conquer this so that Christ may be glorified above your highest heavens – your reputation? Men who brave this foe have a unique title or name God calls them. The name will be engraved on a white stone – a personal monument. This may be an access card for accessing the store of the hidden manna. By hidden manna, we mean the top secrets of God, which angels themselves know not of.

Ruler of nations (Revelations 2:18-29)

Moreover, another battle the Jesus army wage is against adultery of the heart. Again, one would have been free to assume a literal affair with prophetess Jezebel until in verse 23, Jesus mentioned, “I am He who searches all hearts.” Aren’t we all seduced into prostitution with pride and contempt in our hearts by some initial victories in our pilgrimage like Brother Christian in “The Pilgrim’s Progress”? Isn’t this prostitution always occasioned by a false sense of spiritual self-worth? Sadly, Satan has had a significantly strong foothold against many in this battle: “The great war of pride.” He lays siege on all access routes to God’s grace on this front because God gives grace only to the humble (1 Peter 5:5-6,James 4:6-7). The victory way here is a perceived form of humiliation, scandalous crosses, disdain, name it 🤔… Still, with this comes a lifting slated for a due time (‎James 4:10). In confirmation of this, our Captain has promised power over the nations. When your acts of bravery over pride is recited from the Book of Life, all who currently despise your winning ways will come under your leadership’s iron rod. Even Satan himself will be under your direct command.

Riddle

I said, “Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?”. Who am I❓

Public ovation (Revelations 3:1-6)

There is still yet another battle against insincerity. Here, the temptation is to wear a religious facade, claiming what one is not. Therefore, one will receive a testimony of being alive when all spiritual vitality is dying out. This essentially slips the Christian into drunkenness with this world. So that instead of being at alert, steadily anticipating the second coming of the Lord, His coming surprises such, abashed as a thief‘s intrusion of at night. They are like foolish unprepared virgins, who in lack of pursuit of perfection in Christ, have lost all the treasures they ever possessed in Jesus. Oh, how we must wrestle against the principalities and powers behind all activities that plummet us into such lows! If we do not win this war, we risk the chance of losing our place in the Book of Life. If the name is then taken out, how can there ever be any record against it? Would that not be outright delisting? Isn’t it entirely commendable for one to be announced and awarded before the whole world as an audience: generations past, present and subsequent?

Special segment allotment in God’s New Heaven (Revelations 3:7-13)

Will you stand aloof or at alert against everything that makes you contradict the word of God instead of obeying them? Not alone will God keep from needless battles on earth, signifying you are one of His unique combatants. But He will also make you a pillar in the temple of God. We read that that temple is the New Jerusalem. A pillar indeed, because we will all be brides, you shall be like beams cut carved out to adorn to a palace. How beautiful is it that whatever God is constructing of a temple is imperfect and incomplete without mortal men like us, not angles, standing as pillars that beautify it! Anything might have been labelled after angel Gabriel, Michael, or any other angel whosoever. But it is not worth any anticipation like the woe-struck sons of men owning a portion in God’s house. Is this not worth being martyred for, even if our course to faithfulness so demands?

Sitting next to Jesus in eternity (Revelations 3:14-22)

Lastly, the last giant of Lukewarmness must be sacked and its army spoilt. The lukewarm man is too afraid to take a stand with God and too fearful to disavow God. They are not generally dissidents nor offensive alliances in any army. They are the thinly see-throughs through which Satan takes a sneak peek into the Church. Satan most effective tool is deception, and He uses it in these men. It becomes more pathetic if these lukewarm steers the affairs of the Church. They are easily seen as standards, and all followers are lost in hell consequently. This has a cause-and-effect relationship. Indifference exploits our strong desires (lusts) for materialism to disunite our ranks as an army. On top of this, when materials are gotten, they falsely position themselves as signs of spiritual progress. They replace the garment of righteousness with the earthly affordable “soft garments”. These perishables tend to account for our spiritual riches by estimating and amplifying our earthly net worth. The lukewarm also hold clear visions on mere worldly matters as spiritual insight. How to win? We are to battle the love for this world by advancing in the Love of God. The vacuum of affection is in all men. What occupies it is a question of his tastes or values and consequently steers the course of His life. But for this victory, the reward is sitting next to Jesus on His throne. There, matters of high importance and top issues of the Kingdom of God will be deliberated and decided upon.

Finally…

It is noteworthy that we will be fighting as a body. As with the fall of a card in domino games, the fall of one is a fall of all. Our offensives are in defence of a kingdom, not just me. Thus, the fight of lust might not be for me but thorough restless wrestling in prayer to rescue a brother trapped in any of these vices.
