What is revelation?

Observing the book of revelation, revelation is something shown to you by the Holy Spirit about Jesus Christ. Often only you can understand it the way it was shown or described.
Moses, the prophets, Peter, James and John.
## KNOWLWGE VS REVELATION 1. Knowledge can be a mere mental exercise while Revelations is spiritual and then registers itself within your experience. Then you can know what has been received [Luke 24:25-32](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+24%3A25-32&version=NIV). 2. Everyone knows something. That is flesh and blood can know anything it is taught. Only the Holy Spirit can reveal Jesus (Jn. 16:13) 3. you can know both plain and hidden things. But only hidden things are revealed [1 Corinthians 2:9-10](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+2%3A9-10&version=NKJV) 4. Knowledge can be generic and specific. Revelation is very specific, usually concerning a subject or issue.
## How do we know we have mere knowledge or revelation of Christ Jesus?
1. Revelation alters our state. John fell face-down.
2. It brings intimacy between the receiver and the revealed. John describes Jesus like no other because he saw Him.
